gyrification index from graph
Hello, I play with the gyrification index tool and have now few questions. 1) How is computed the brain_hull_area (rawhull = ingraph['brain_hull_area'])? I suppose that it is done in a similar way as in the paper of A.Cachia (ref below) (morpho closing, meshing and computing the area of the resultin...

Re: brainvisa 4.2.1 - windows 7 bug?
Hi Denis,
I have patched my BV and it works now, as well as your new update that I have downloaded to confirm to you that it works fine.
I just already get a python error ("Python.exe a cessé de fonctionner") when closing BV, but this not a real problem.
Thank you very much,
gui

brainvisa 4.2.1 - windows 7 bug?
Hi brainmentors after running BV4.2.1 a first time on windows 7, when closing BV I get a python error ("Python.exe a cessé de fonctionner"). Then when I want to launch BV for a second time I have the following error and BV crashes before openning the GUI. It seams that a variable of soma i...

Re: Anatomist show superimposed graphs
Hi Dominique,
I tried the 'Check database' and it worked.
I mean the "Anatomist show superimposed graphs" works fine now.
However, I'm still interested in any hint concerning which transformation is used in this case?
Many thanks!

Anatomist show superimposed graphs
Hi brainMentors, when I run Anatomist show superimposed graphs, the graphs are loaded into a common referential (I've seen it is now the MNI space instead of the ACP/Talairach space). My question is where is the transformation which is used in this case? -the one in the 'registration' folder? -the o...

projection of INSULA onto the white mesh
Hi brainvisors, is A.Cachia's spirit still there? I have an awful question for him, sorry! Here is the context: -I 'play' with the white surface extraction tools and get some surfaces with various number of vertices (up to more than 100 000). -I try to see if the siMeshSulciProjection command can be...

Re: Roi export as nifti mask goes into wrong space
Hi Denis, thanks for your help, >> -Does anatomist apply one of the transformation matrices by default at the loading of a volume? >It depends on your settings in Anatomist, but if you have left the default values, NO. where can I tune this setting? There is something that I don't understand: if not...

Re: Roi export as nifti mask goes into wrong space
Hi BrainVisionners, Denis, I guess you're bored with the NIFTI convertion issue, sorry for this new post. I have two volumes that are registered with SPM and not with BV3.2 The second volume is a subpart of the first, obtained with SPM Imcalc (the volume composition tool in SPM). The 2 figs attached...

BV3.2.1 install : ImportError: No module named PyQt4
Hi, I try to install BrainVISA 3.2.1 on a mandriva 2010 32bit pc and I get the following error. Can you help me please? Building BrainVISA cache Traceback (most recent call last): File "<string>", line 27, in <module> File "/home/guillaume_bv/BVs/cartopack-Fedora-4-i686-3.2.1-2010_01_...

Combining SPAM-based and older automatic recognition process
Hi there, I ve run both the new SPAM-based sulcal recognition process and the older process on some data and the results seems complementary. I wonder if it could be possible to "combine" both approaches? I tried to give to the older method the result of the SPAM as an initialization, but ...
Re: gifti
Hi Denis, this is why I said the problem would come from the faces index in GiftiToBrainvisaConerter... I ve tried to save the gifti with faces-1 in matlab before the conversion with GiftiToBrainvisaConerter but that doesnt solve the problem. Once more, the matlab code in my previous post works well...
Re: gifti
Hi Olivier,
the code in my last post converts BV .mesh to .gifti and vice-versa, so my problem is solved.
This was a sort of 'contribution'...
Have good time during your holidays!

Re: gifti
Hi, here are some news about the gifti coverter: It seems to me that the GiftiToBrainvisaConerter has a problem in the index of the faces, it doesn t work on my example. I ve written a basic converter in matlab which returns a gifti tesselation in the space of the volume given (usually the MRI from ...
