Skull Segmentation in Brainvisa

Post by matt_levi »

Hi- i'm working on a study primarily looking at EEG, but we also have T1 MRI for all of our subjects and would really like to be able to measure the skull thickness as part of our experiment-- has this type of segmentation been done before, and is there any toolbox etc which could help? Failing that, any suggestions on how to make it work?
Thanks :-)

Sorry, I am not aware of a simple way to deal with that issue. You could dig further in the MEG toolbox developed in La Salpetriere, they may have a script dedicated to the MEG forward problem, I do not know if it is public.

It's not a Brainvisa-related answer, but well, it might help: the "New Segment" procedure available in SPM8 produces a segmentation into 8 different classes, one of them being "skull"... The segmented skull probability map could be a good starting point to answer your question...
