BrainVISA 4.2.1/ 4.3, Mac OS 10.7.5

Post by mheers »

Dear all,

I cannot open BrainVISA on my Mac. When double clicking on the icon it starts to appear in Dock, then it disappears without opening the program. It is the same for BrainVISA 4.2.1 & 4.3. I don't have any problems with the anatomist though. I hope there is someone who knows what might be the cause.

Best regards,

Marcel

Hi,
Have you had a look at this and this?
To get more informative error messages, try running brainvisa from a terminal: you will at least be able to see the error messages on the terminal (especially libraries loading problems).

Dear Denis,

I think the other posts don't help in this case. Wenn typing:
open /Applications/brainvisa-4.3.0/BrainVISA.app

the error message is the following:
LSOpenURLsWithRole() failed with error -10810 for the file /Applications/brainvisa-4.3.0/BrainVISA.app.

It would be great, if you know how to solve this.
Best regards,

Marcel

Hi,

does anyone know, what might cause this problem? I still cannot open BrainVISA on my Mac.

Well, I can't really help you since I don't have another Mac machine with a recent MacOS on it to test the problem.
However this kind of problem seems to have been quite often encountered on Mac. It may be related to permissions on files in the package, namely /Applications/brainvisa-4.3.0/BrainVISA.app/Contents/MacOS/brainvisa and /Applications/brainvisa-4.3.0/bin/brainvisa should have the executable flag set. But if it is not already, I don't know how it got removed when unzipping the Brainvisa package archive. So maybe it's something else.
What I found while googling:
http://qt-project.org/forums/viewthread/14480
https://getsatisfaction.com/mojang/topi ... tion_fixed
etc.
We are no Mac experts, so I have no explanation for the problem...
