AimsMesh2Sphere

Post by Olivier Coulon »

There is an implementation of Roberto Toro's mesh to sphere method in AimsMesh2Sphere. The program returns a texture that contains the computed coordinates. I don't understand what actually is this texture. It looks like it contains the coordinate computed to do the mapping from the mesh to the sphere, but there is only two coordinates instead of three. Two coordinates would actually be enough if it was spherical coordinates but it does not look like it, in particular there is not unicity of cooordinates couple...
Anybody has an idea about that ? Would it be OK if I changed the code such that this texture contains proper spherical coordinates ?

You should talk directly to Roberto because he his working on these functions. He had been in Orsay for a few days and he can now prepare and compile his commands on his own Mac. But unfortunately he is not using Perforce (yet ?) for synchronization.
