Convert .ucf and .dx files to Anatomist compatible files

Post by Lenitem »

Hello,
we would like to open with Anatomist a file .ucf or .dx (a 3D map).
We know that the file extension isn't supported, but we ask you if there is a program or a tool to convert our files into compatible ones (like .mesh).
Another question is: can we open a .dwg file (an Autocad file)?

Thanks

Hi,
Sorry for the delay in answering, your message got almost forgotten...
Anatomist/Aims do not support many mesh formats. We mainly use our own formats (.mesh and an obsolete .tri format), but we also now support .ply and .gii (GIFTI) formats. Additionally we can export to VRML1 and we have somewhere a blender plugin. I don't even know avout the .ucf and .dx formats, and we clearnly do not support autocad files.
The best way is to look at existing software if they can convert to a format anatomist can read: .ply is supported in various software, for instance blender can convert to it, but I don't know if it also supports the formats you are talking about.

Long ago I posted a message with blender plugins to import/export meshes:

But I do not know if these plugins are stiil working with recent blender releases.
