Anatomist only shows one slice

Post by timj »

Just installed BrainVisa 3.01 and everything works "ok" except that once Anatamost loads, if I change the current slice, it displays only a empty / blank / white background.

meaning, I can only look at ~sllice 90, and nothing else.

Is there a fix for this?

Thanks.

Hi,

There is not enough informations to understand what is happened.
How did you launch Anatomist ?
Perhaps you used brainvisa process, which is it ?
What is format of your data ?
What is your OS ?
Did you tried with others datas such as lesson1 (cf : http://brainvisa.info/downloadpage.html in exemple data) ?

This occurs in anything in which anatomist is launched to show a volume. as an example, prepare subject for anatomical pipeline

Filetype is analyze, Anatomist opens fine, it shows a transaxial slice, everything seems "fine"

but once the slider is moved to change the slice, either by dragging the mouse or pageup/pagedown, no slice is displayed, only the red crosshair.

Thanks

Hi,

It is difficult to know if your data are wrong or if it is an using problem.
I suggest you to send me data (I send you a private mail) and in the same time you can
download lesson1 on http://brainvisa.info/downloadpage.html in "example data" section,
to check that display is correct in Anatomist.

Hi,

If you can see a slice from the middle of the volume, I more suspect a display problem rather than a format reading problem.
Can you please answer all Isa's questions, especially the OS you are using and also which 3D card is in your machine ? Some OpenGL problems can occur with low-end 3D graphics chipsets with poor OpenGL support, this has happened for instance on small laptops running Intel graphics chipsests on Windows: see this post.

from lspci:
01:05.0 Display controller: 3DLabs GLINT R3 [Oxygen VX1] (rev 01)

It is the video card, I tried it on another machine and the problem isn't there, although there is a different one (see brainvisa forum)

Hi,

Did you try with lesson1.ima ?

As Denis, I suspect that your volume is put into 3D window and not axial, coronal or sagittal window.
To see your data into 3D window, you must use the rotation with mouse buttons.

Then you can do this :
1) If your data is in 3D window, to do a rotation, use the middle button of your mouse and move it.
2) Use directly another type of window (axial, coronal or saggital).
