byte order handling in GIS format reading

Post by Grégoire »

Hi everybody,

I tried to read data in GIS format with anatomist, and have inserted the line
"-bo ABCD" in the *.dim file. Data type is S16.
Anatomist then gets stuck forever in reading the file, whatever the bo coding is.
(If I remove this -bo line from the *.dim file, Anatomist can read it without problems, but
the result is just not right ! )

How can I get this feature running ?

Thanks a lot,

Marie-Claude

Hi Marie-Claude,
Well, I don't see anything wrong in what you have done. Make sure you insert the -bo line after the fisrt line (image dimensions) in the .dim (and maybe that there is a carriage return after the last line).
If it still doesn't work, please send me the .dim file so I can try it.

ok, it works !
I was just mislead by an example of a GIS header file (found in one of the forums here)
which was displaying the -bo line after the pixel size information line.

bye then, and thanks again

Well, anyway it should not be a mistake to have the -bo tag before the voxel sizes, it just has not to be the first line of the .dim file (which should always be the numbers of voxels).
When I try it, it works as it should...
Well, if you have found a solution, then you're happy...
