Compatibility between different versions/platforms
Hi I have previously done cortical mesh reconstruction and sulci recognition on some data using Brainvisa 4.0 under Liunx (Fedora 10). I 've also installed Anatomist version 4.1.0 on Windows XP and was wondering if it is possible to use this newer version of Anatomist (4.1.0) on windows to view the ...

Gyri parcellation for 3.1 graph version
Hi
I was wondering if I should use the gyri model within 3.0 folder (called gyri.gyr) for parcellation of the graphs labelled under 3.1 version or something else? (It seems to be working properly though)
Thanks

Re: English nomenclature
Hi Denis This is certainly helpful but still not exactly the same as the nomenclature used in Ono's atlas. For example what is considered to be post-central sulcus in Ono's atlas seems to be shared between post-central and intraparietal sulci with Brainvisa nomenclature. There are actually many mism...

English nomenclature
Hi everyone
I am trying to match Brainvisa sulci labelling with atlas, however for some sulcal parts the equivalence between the lables in french and english seems quite tricky. Does any one have a similar experience and possible solutions for this?
Many thanks
MSh

Re: Sulci recognition for brain tumour patients
Hi Denis
Thanks for the reply. What would you suggest then? Do I exclude the tumour mask from the brain? (does this not remove some genuine sulci?) Would you think this will be sorted out in the next release of the software?
Thanks

Sulci recognition for brain tumour patients
Hi I am looking at the sulci identification with Brainvisa for brain tumour patients and have included the tumour mask in the brain segmentation step. The program has also found and labelled some folds in the tumour (shown in figure). Is there any way to improve the result? Also, is there any way to...

Re: Morphometry Statistics
Hi Denis No I'm not using the very last version, it's 4.0 version. Interestingly this problem only happens with 3.1-version graphs, with 3.0-version ones which also have slightly different parameters (less number of parameters) this doesn't happen at all. Thanks very much for information about other...

Re: Morphometry Statistics
Hi again In the meantime I came across two more questions about the parameters calculated using "morphometry statistics". 1. What do max/min/mean geodesic depths exactly mean and how do they relate to the real thickness of the sulcus? 2. Regarding the coordinates of extremities and the gra...

Markovian SPAM
Hi
I was wondering if someone could recommend a reference about Markovian SPAM. There are two papers (Perrot 2008,2009) describing SPAM method using Talairach, Global, and Local registrations but I couldn't find any reference explaining about markovian approach in details.
Thanks
MSh

Morphometry Statistics
Hi When I run Morphometry Statistics on version 3.1 graphs, I get the message: "MReader ::parse : unknown syntactic attribute sub_ad_svm". Nevertheless it seems to work properly and the obtained numerical values look reasonable. I was wondering if the values are still valid despite the mes...

Re: lesion mask
Hi Dominique
Thanks very much for replying. Does this mean that the aim of using lesion mask in brain segmentation step is to preserve the lesion or tumour as part of the brain and not to exclude it?
Thanks

Re: lesion mask
Hi I was wondering if anyone who has had experience with lesion extraction would help me with this. For removing a tumour mask from brain mask I input the binary mask representing the tumour in the box that corresponds to the lession_mask in "Compute brain mask" process . Nevertheless, the...

Re: grey matter thickness measurment
Hi Denis Thanks very much for your prompt reply - much appreciated! I tried options 2 and 3 but have questions: With “Create cortical texture” there are two output texture files: “white.thickness.tex” and “hemi.thickness.tex”. How are these two different and which one relates to the cortical thickne...

grey matter thickness measurment
Hello Brainvisa experts I'm interested to measure cortical thickness and based on the related discussions on forum, there seem to be two options: 1. cortical surface parameterization (which apparently is not recommended) 2. RIC toolbox (by Kochunov) Having looked at the documentation of RIC toolbox,...

Hi Marriane
I also ran into the same problem when working under windows and got exactly the same error message. However, when I tried this with my linux-based Brainvisa version it worked properly.
