Strange brain cascade for SPGR sequence error

Post by neurolab »

Hi

On processing a T1 image imported from a volume in "Analyze" format (X240 Y240 Z150, thickness 1mm) and after "Prepare Subject for Anatomical Pipeline" we tried to run "Ana do a lot of things". The program stoped in the Histo_analysis process, with the following error message:

------------------------------
! VIP Warning:
Strange: gap of more than 5 points along this trajectory (use smaller scale step)
------------------------------
Singularity steming from iteration 893 and localization 37
lost at iteration 0

------------------------------
!! VIP Error:
Strange brain cascade for SPGR sequence
------------------------------

------------------------------
!! VIP Error:

Execution aborted in function 'VipAnalyseCascadesSPGRSequence'.

We'd be thankful to know where the problem is and how to solve it.

Hi,

What is the kind of sequence ? SPGR or IR ?
Perhaps there is a confusion about this parameter. Normaly, the algo can detect this parameter but sometimes it is confusing if data are coded in a strange way. For instance, the IR data can be detected like SPGR, so the algo is not properly initialized.

The reasons concerning this message can be numerous. Can you send me data by FTP ? Please send a private email.

Hello,

I have exactly the same error message
....gap of more than 5 points along this trajectory (use smaller scale step) ...
with a T1 image coming from a philips 1.5T.

Si je fais la meme opération sur l'image "scalpée" sur MRIcro, ça marche sans probleme.
zut ! en anglais...
but, if I first removed the scalp (with MRIcro), the process run without problem

I uses the very last version of BrainVisa
I send the .his file.

Had you find the solution ?
thank you
Isabelle

I am sorry for this bug that occurs from time to time with some scanners.
I must find time to deal with it. One trick to turn around for the time being is to trigger
the command by hand and tune a parameter. If you open the log of brainVISA you can see exactly
what are the command parameters. Copy and paste this in any shell and add "-u 8" or "-u 16" or variations
around that idea. It should work.

If you work with windows or mac, you have to learn how to trigger a command.
