Refsurface of graph fold

Post by Mikha »

Hello,
When we look at the graph fold of a subject's left hemisphere in Anatomist browser, we can obtain a surface and a refsurface for a particular sulcus.
What does represent refsurface here?

Thank you for your help,

Hi,
You mean the "refsurface_area" attribute ?
It's the surface area meaurement of the fold, measured in normalized (Talairach) space.

Hello,
thank you for your answer. I have another question.
Can I obtain "brain hull area" from native space with the "Surface area and volume" process of morphometry?

Thank you,

Hello,
My previous post was a mistake.
Actually I want to calculate the local Sulcal index. I already have "surface_native" for each sulcus of each subject and now I need the "brain_hull_area" all over the brain.
Does anybody know a process which give this attribute automatically?

Thank you,
Mikhael

Hi,
You have, precisely, the "brain_hull_area" property in sulcal graphs, and the one calculated in normalized space, "refbrain_hull_area", in global properties of graphs, as used in the process Morphologist/morphometry/Sulci/Global sulcal index. You can look at the process code (<brainvisa_dir>/brainvisa/toolboxes/morphologist/processes/morphometry/Sulci/sulcalindex.py

Hi,
thank you for your answer. It is what I have done this afternoon. I though that an automatical process could give us this kind of data for all subjects in a CSV file.
