CSF characteristics from VipHistoAnalysis

Post by Olivier_Colliot »

Hi,

Which options should I use in VipHistoAnalysis in order to obtain the mean and standard-deviation of CSF, in addition to those of GM and WM?

Many thanks,
Olivier

PS: I put this question in this forum even though it is not a Aims command. Please let me know if I should post it elsewhere.

I am afraid you should forget about it, this is not really dealed with.
Because inversion recovery sequence remove CSF signal,
it is not always possible to distinguish it from the background
using only the histogram. Of course this could be taken into account
to design an output dedicated to CSF, but is is not done up to now (
and for a while I am afraid...)

Would it be so difficult to mask out the background (after a head segmentation for instance) before doing the histogram ?
