Is there any way to adjust the brightness and contrast when viewing MR images? This feature is customarily used to highling subtle features of a radiograph, CT, or MRI scan.

There is no tool to adjust the colormap in terms of brightness/contrast, althrough it is a good idea, maybe we could add this one day (when we have time!).
But there is a wide panel of colormaps and color scaling that can apply to an image: select the image on the control window of Anatomist, then go to the "object-specific" menu and select color/palette. The box that will popup should allow you to play with colors.
